What Does the Chamber Provide?
The Pontiac Regional Chamber of Commerce works with participating businesses and organizations to help create a memorable celebration.
Our standard ribbon cutting support includes:
Event Coordination
Assistance with scheduling and planning the ceremonial ribbon cutting.
Ceremonial Ribbon Cutting
Coordination of the ribbon cutting ceremony, including ceremonial ribbon and scissors.
Chamber Representation
A PRC representative to welcome guests and facilitate the ceremony.
Event Promotion
An event listing on the PRC website and promotional support through appropriate Chamber communication channels.
Community Connections
Invitations to available Chamber leadership, ambassadors, and other community representatives, as appropriate.
Photo Opportunities
Coordination of group photos and ceremonial ribbon cutting moments.
Participation by elected officials, media outlets, and other invited guests is subject to their availability and cannot be guaranteed.
How to Request a Ribbon Cutting
Step 1: Submit Your Request
Complete the Ribbon Cutting Request Form below. Tell us about your business, what you’re celebrating, and your
preferred event dates.
Step 2: Connect with Our Team
A PRC representative will review your request and contact you within one business day to discuss availability,
event details, and next steps.
Step 3: Confirm Your Celebration
Once your event date and details are approved, our team will provide confirmation and begin coordinating the
Chamber’s participation and promotional activities.
Step 4: Invite Your Community
Spread the word! Invite your employees, customers, business partners, friends, family, and supporters to
join the celebration.
Step 5: Celebrate!
On the day of your event, our team will help facilitate the ceremonial ribbon cutting so you can enjoy this
important milestone.
Planning for a Successful Ribbon Cutting
To help make your celebration a success, please keep these helpful reminders in mind:
Plan Ahead
We recommend submitting your request at least three weeks before your preferred event date. This allows adequate time for scheduling, coordination, and promotion. Requests with shorter notice may be accommodated based on availability.
Select Your Preferred Dates
Please provide your preferred event date and at least two alternative options. Event dates are not confirmed until approved by PRC.
Invite Your Guests
The most successful ribbon cuttings are collaborative! Businesses are encouraged to invite their own customers, employees, supporters, business partners, and other guests. The Chamber’s promotional efforts complement, rather than replace, your invitations.
Prepare Your Location
The hosting business is responsible for providing an appropriate space for the ceremony, including any necessary permissions, parking arrangements, accessibility considerations, and weather contingency plans.
Share Your Business Information
Be prepared to provide your business logo, a brief business description, website, and other information that will help us promote your celebration.
Make It Your Own!
Want to offer refreshments, host a tour, provide giveaways, or include special remarks? We encourage you to personalize your celebration! These additional activities and associated expenses are the responsibility of the hosting business.
Who Can Request a Ribbon Cutting?
PRC Members
Ribbon cutting coordination is a complimentary benefit for eligible Pontiac Regional Chamber of Commerce members, subject to scheduling availability and Chamber guidelines.
Nonmembers
Not yet a PRC member? We would still love to hear about your celebration! Ribbon cutting services may be available to nonmember businesses and organizations for a fee.
Our team will provide information about available options, applicable fees, and the benefits of Chamber membership before confirming your event.
